Unruly Pages
Nine web pages that refuse to sit still. Something lives on each one and treats the text as its habitat: it eats the type, floods it, magnetises it, or drops it on the floor. Every page runs by itself when it opens. Touch it to take over.
-
✳Inverse kinematics
Crawler Specimens
A glowing many-legged creature with a stepping gait that leaves its field and shoves, grabs and carries the article's letters.
Try: drag a finger through the text. Tap New specimen for another species.
-
SPath following
The Letter Python
A python swallows letters, carries them down its body as visible bulges, and passes them out as scrambled red words.
Try: Feed it a word, then tap the word you want it to eat.
-
◐Flocking to light
Moths at the Lamp
Moths spiral around your lamp. When it goes out they land on the page and eat the writing, and the text reflows around the holes.
Try: hold still for three seconds and watch them feed.
-
●Fluid simulation
Ink Bleed
Real fluid dynamics soak ink through paper fibres. Words the ink reaches blur, drip and dry with a stain.
Try: switch to vermilion and drop it on the title.
-
↓Rigid-body physics
Trueplumb Gravity Switch
A polished product page that collapses into a pile when gravity turns on. Every piece can be thrown, then flown back home.
Try: Zero-g, then fling the headline letters.
-
≋Cloth simulation
Kite Meet Handbill
A letterpress poster hung as real cloth in the wind, with folds that catch the light and a back side you can see.
Try: long-press and drag to tear it, then double-tap to rehang.
-
NField physics
Magnetic Type
Every letter is a piece of soft iron. They turn along the field, stand up, pile at the poles and cling to the bar.
Try: add a second magnet and push the two together.
-
≈Boids
Shoal Survey Slate
Hundreds of fish school behind the text, split around each paragraph and flash silver when a hand comes near.
Try: add a predator and watch the school ball up.
-
❦Procedural growth
The Climbing Garden
Vines grow along the lines of text and coil around letters. Touch a word and it bursts into flower.
Try: step through to autumn and watch the leaves drop.
Each page is a single self-contained HTML file. No images, no frameworks beyond one physics library. All the creatures, paper and water are drawn in code.
